John Lennon’s - The Psychedelic Eye John Lennon’s - The Psychedelic Eye is a well documented, historic, fascinating and absolutely unique ‘work of art’, designed and attributed to arguably the greatest and most famous writer and musician of all time.

IN CONCLUSION

It is not possible to visit Kenwood for as the photos on this page show, Kenwood, as it always has been, is on a private estate and even if you were to visit Kenwood little remains [if anything] of John’s influence and the time he lived there. The attic studio where John had his recording studio has recently undergone major changes and is completely unrecognisable from John’s era there.

However in The Psychedelic Eye and via the many photographs taken at the time or via John’s early years recordings or indeed the many stories and facts in the public domain, there is still very much a lot we can still view, read and enjoy.

So from the ‘1001’ facts involving John and Kenwood, many of which you can find on some of the excellent Internet sites such as at www.KenwoodLennon.com or indeed many items of interest that you will not  including a couple of ‘secret ones’ that immediately follows, let me leave you for the moment with the following:

  1. A business colleague of mine owned Kenwood some years after John, his then very young daughter who had her bedroom in the attic and where John had his studio would sometimes report of seeing a ‘ghostly/shadowy image!. The family’s pet dog would not go up to the attic.
  2. John had a ‘front door’ installed at the bottom of the stairs leading to The Blue Room and ‘his/a’ bedroom. The door had a letter box so that items such as post could be put through so as not to disturb John!
  3. Paul McCartney was being driven over to see John at Kenwood for a recording session when Paul asked the driver “are you busy”?… to which the driver replied that he was so busy that “I am working 8 days a Week”!!!… Paul went into Kenwood and said to John that he had a great title for a song ‘Eight Days A Week’.

Sadly we do not have John anymore, however let us enjoy what we have of was Kenwood, what it gave us, what it offers us, and its many memories.
